I paint the sky on a bright and sunny day.
I glisten in the eyes of a new baby who has opened them for the first time.
I decorate gardens with hydrangeas, geraniums, hyacinths, bluestars, asters, and morning glorys.
I cover the webbed feet of the booby birds.
I flash through the crystal clear ocean waters making beaches picturesque.
I rage through a flame when it is hotter than hot.
I am sad and I cry, unable to be happy.
I am blue.
I Am Mayberry
Children are capable of so much. They have amazing imagination and such genuine emotions. A goal as a mom and writer is to encourage both.

I Am A Mom
I hear the pouting sighs of a 2 year old through the monitor that sits beside my bed throughout the night, because I am a mom.
I am woken up by little hands, little feet, little faces, sweet kisses and soft snuggles, because I am a mom.
I am taking orders for breakfast... 4 different requests for 4 different tummies, because I am a mom.
I am eating my breakfast as i clear off the table... leftover scraps of eggs, bacon, jelly toast, eggo waffles, yogurt and a few spoonfuls of cereal, because I am a mom.
I am walking out the door in my running shoes waving bye to a crying 2 year old in daddy's arms who doesn't realize I really will be right back, because I am a mom.
I am taking a very non-private shower, because I am a mom.
I am washing a load of laundry containing shirts stained forever, tiny panties galore, muddy socks, and questionable bedding, because I am a mom.
I am chasing naked toddlers, discouraging a mismatched outfit, and finding a favorite shirt hoping it is clean enough, because I am a mom.
I am rangling small bodies in and out the door, into and out of a cluttered family car, in and out of sticky carseats, and fastening and unfastening seatbelts, because I am a mom.
I wash little heads, shoulders, knees, and toes, getting splashed with water and wet hugs alike, because I am a mom.
I am singing lullabies, giving multiple rounds of kisses and hugs, providing one more drink here and there, and tucking in 4 sleepy bodies, because I am a mom.
I reflect on my day with tired eyes, an aching body, a smile and a heart full of love, because I am a mom.
